Exterior Cleaning in Falmouth, Maine
Soft washing, roof cleaning, and gutter care in Falmouth, on the Foreside and out through West Falmouth and Blackstrap.
Two Kinds of Falmouth Homes
Falmouth is really two towns for our purposes, and Route 1 is the dividing line. East of it, along Route 88 through the Foreside, Waites Landing, and Town Landing, homes sit close enough to Casco Bay to take salt directly. West of it, through Blackstrap, West Falmouth, and Pleasant Hill, houses sit under heavy woods on larger lots. Those two halves need different treatment, and knowing which one you are on is most of the job. We handle soft washing, house washing, roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and pressure washing across the whole town.
Why We Soft Wash Instead of Pressure Wash
Soft washing is a method that relies on our special proprietary cleaning solution to kill organic matter rather than high pressure. While high pressure washing may appear to remove the moss, dirt and algae, it doesn’t kill it. By killing algae and fungus, your exterior surfaces remain clean longer than with a pressure wash. This method is commonly used for residential and commercial properties, as well as on surfaces like roofs, decks, and fences. With our high quality equipment and professional detergents, it is the safest and most effective method of cleaning exterior surfaces.
On the Foreside the problem is salt. It is hygroscopic, so it pulls moisture from the air and holds it against cedar shingle and painted clapboard long after the weather clears, and that lingering dampness is what keeps algae and mildew coming back. Rinsing the salt off is the part that actually breaks the cycle, and it is the step most homeowners skip. West of Route 1 the picture flips. Blackstrap Hill Community Forest alone runs close to 600 wooded acres, and subdivisions tucked under that kind of mature canopy stay shaded and damp. There the issue is black roof streaking and moss on north-facing planes, caused by Gloeocapsa magma feeding on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Falmouth also has a lot of housing built from 1980 onward, which puts much of the town’s siding and roofing right in the window where two or three decades of growth have accumulated.

Why Falmouth Homeowners Call Us
Salt-Air Rinse on the Foreside
Homes east of Route 1 take salt straight off Casco Bay. We rinse the salt film out of cedar and clapboard, not just the growth sitting on top of it.
Gentle on Cedar Shingle
Cedar cannot take high pressure without damage. We soft wash at low pressure so the shingles keep their surface and their life span.
Local Crew, Fully Insured
We work out of Westbrook, a short drive from Falmouth. Free estimates, and we carry full liability insurance on every job.
